Contracts for construction works at the Rector's Palace in Ston and for expert-technical supervision have been signed as part of the project TAKE IT SLOW – Adriatic Lifestyle as an Inspiration for Sustainable Development, which is being carried out by the Dubrovnik-Neretva County as the lead partner in collaboration with 12 other partners from Croatia and Italy.

The Rector's Palace in Ston is envisioned as an interpretive center that aims to contribute to the preservation, valorization, and promotion of the natural and cultural heritage of Ston and Pelješac, especially related to food and wine production and service. As part of the TAKE IT SLOW project, the first phase of works will encompass a part of the Rector's Palace building: a multifunctional hall on the ground floor with an associated restroom. The signed contract value for construction works with the contractor Posta d.o.o. is 381,060 EUR including VAT. The expert-technical supervision service for these works, provided by Geoing d.o.o., amounts to 8,137.50 EUR including VAT.

The focus of the project is on the development of sustainable tourism in small communities on the islands, coast, and inland areas along the Adriatic Sea, rich in both material and immaterial heritage preserved through an authentic lifestyle. The Dubrovnik-Neretva County has a budget of 869,230 euros.
